1940s Eames Sea Things Tray by Waverly

I snagged this Vintage Tray Friday at a yard sale for only $1.00. 
 I knew it was cool when I found it...but it just got way cooler!
After doing a little research I discovered the design is by Ray Eames.
The Sea Things pattern was developed in 1947 for Waverly, and is highly collectible.
(There is even an example of the black & white pattern at LACMA!)
At an Auction in April 2010 another one of these tray sold for over $1,000.00!!!
Though I'm tempted to keep it for myself...I'll be listing it in my Etsy Shop soon!

    This tray is beyond stunning. I can imagine it being highly collectible but it's also very trendy with all the sea creations showing up on Etsy and at the Renegade Craft Fair. I also just mentioned today in my post how I bring things home to sell only to fall in love with them. I'd have such a hard time selling the tray. What a beautiful find.
